Goals for our Children

Sunshine School's goals provide opportunities for children:
- to develop a sense of self-identity, competence, and self-worth.
- to establish positive relationships with adults and other children
- to become responsible, self-directed, and self-disciplined
- to learn to respect others and their property.
- to become skillful in using language and understanding concepts.
- to experience sensory and creative awareness through exposure to the arts.
- to develop each individual's mental, physical, and social potential.
The role of the staff at Sunshine School is:
- to help children feel at ease away from home.
- to guide the children with gentle and consistent discipline.
- to foster the unique abilities & meet the individual needs of each child.
- to help the children develop responsible and positive attitudes towards each other, their families, and the community.
- to create an atmosphere in which a child will be comfortable with group or solitary activities, and physical or passive activities.
- to share a curriculum with the children which provides sensory, creative, physical, and intellectual experiences.
- to pursue professional growth.
