2010-2011 Tuition
|
Sunshine's annual fees for each of 3 programs:
- The non-refundable registration fee for PRESCHOOL (August - May) is $150. Additionally, there's supply fee of $85 per semester (refundable on a pro-rated basis if you leave us.)
- For our AFTER-SCHOOL program, the registration fee (non-refundable) is $75. This program is for our oldest children (former Sunshiners who are now in kindergarten, 1st grade, or 2nd grade.) It runs Aug. - May, also. The supply fee is $85 annually.
- The SUMMER PROGRAM'S fees are yet to be determined.
From August - May, you'll pay monthly tuition for preschool (9 a.m. to noon or 12:30 p.m.):
- 3-day program = $330 a month
- 4-day program is $445 a month
- 5-day program = $540 a month
- Pre-K class (9am - 2pm) will cost $560 for 4 days or $700 for 5 days
Other important notes on tuition are below:
- Sunshine School is supported by tuition fees, making it extremely important for these fees to be paid on time. Hourly care payments are due each week (we bill on Tuesdays for the previous week of care.) If payment is not made on time, we add a late fee of $25 to your next bill. Your child may not be admitted after the second week unless you have made financial arrangements with the Director.
- Sunshine is open from 7a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday during the academic year, August through May (summer hours may vary.) Please do not bring children before 7 a.m. If you will be later than closing (5:30 p.m.), you must call. You will be billed $30 for each half hour after closing time, even if you're late by only 5 minutes and even if you have called us. (After two late nights, the Director will be contacting you.) Because this is such a frightening situation for your child, don't let it occur. Also, if you forget to sign in/out & we can't remember a valid time, you will be charged either from 7a.m. or to 5:30 p.m.
- Extended care (that's before 9 a.m. & after 12:30 p.m.) is charged at $5.00 hour (or $1.25 for each 10 minutes in a 15-minute block of time.) This "extended care" is billed and paid weekly. Always ask questions when you don't understand your bill.
- Tuition is due on/before the following dates: 8/2 (YES, before school is in session); 9/1, 10/1, 11/1, 12/1; 1/3/11, 2/1, 3/1, 4/1, and 5/2. We assess a $25 late fee if tuition is not paid within one week. (Please speak with me if you're having a difficulty paying your bill. I'll listen.)
- Please deposit checks into the secure metal "Payments" box at the Main Gate, at the North Gate, or in the box mounted on the wall near the front desk. Thank you.
- There is a $35.00 fee for a returned check.
- There is a 10% discount for the second child enrolled at Sunshine. We'll reduce the lesser-priced tuition fee & also the hourly care.
- A parent needs to give Sunshine a 2-week notice before withdrawing from school. Otherwise, you will be liable for the entire month of tuition. (We hope that you would have spoken with the director long before any of this is necessary.)
- Scholarship aide is available on a limited basis. Please see the Director to discuss financial arrangements.
- Extra preschool classes MAY be available during the school year. The charge is $35 per session (9 - 12:10 or 12:30 p.m.) Please ask the director for details.
- We do not give credit for days absent due to illness or vacation. We also do not "switch" days. We do refund/credit your account when we make a bookkeeping error. If you are moving away and have a substantial credit in your account, we'll be pleased to issue a check. (Of course, if you'd like to donate the amount to Sunshine, that would be wonderful.)
- Sunshine's calendar offers children about 180 days of classroom instruction per year, just like most public schools.
- You may / should rent school for a birthday party or other event. The price is reasonable for our families ($50 for a 4-hr block of time. Others may pay a different rate; call the Director for details.) The kids love coming here; and the mess isn't @ your house.
